Asante Kotoko’s deputy captain, Justice Blay, has stated that the playing body will take full responsibility for their recent defeat to Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Heart of Lions on Sunday, adding to their disappointment after a previous 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities FC earlier in the week.
In a reflective post-match interview, Blay acknowledged the disappointment felt by supporters and accepted accountability for the team’s shortcomings.
“We know there are no easy games once you play for Kotoko, and that’s why we must be ready for each match. The supporters did their part, but unfortunately, we fell short,” he stated to the Asante Kotoko media team.
Despite these challenges, Blay emphasized the importance of unity and patience as the team aims to rebound from these losses.
“This defeat is on us, and we take full responsibility for our inability to react effectively. But now is the time to stay patient and support one another in the remaining games,” he urged.
With recent losses impacting team morale, Kotoko is focused on bouncing back.
The squad is preparing for a crucial Week 10 clash against Bechem United next weekend, where they are eager to secure a much-needed victory and restore confidence among players and supporters alike.
