We were unlucky to miss out on league title - Waris

Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris believes luck eluded BK Hacken in their hunt for the Swedish Allsvenskan title.

The Wasps blew their title chances on Thursday after they failed to pick the maximum points against visiting AIK Stockholm at the Rambergsvallen in the penultimate round of matches in the Swedish top-tier league.

With the Allsvenskan season set to end on Sunday, Hacken can only finish in second place if they are able to negotiate a win at GIF Sundsvall.

Waris, who has contributed 22 goals to Hacken's title campaign, believes his side ran out of luck in their title chase.

"We were able to go top of the league twice and we thought we had a great chance of winning but I feel we run out of luck," he told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"We created a lot of scoring opportunities against AIK but the ball simply refused to go."

The 21-year-old however insists Peter Gerhardsson's side will fight to claim an Europa League spot on Sunday.

"On Sunday we are playing our last game of the season and we have resolved to win for the fans and bring Europa League to them next season."
