Ghana forward Jordan Ayew is determined to lead Leicester City to a strong finish despite the team's relegation from the English Premier League.

Ayew scored in the team's 2-0 win over Southampton, bagging his fifth goal of the season.

"We will keep on fighting till the end to try and finish as high as possible," Ayew said in a post-match interview.

"That's 18th, that's our target." Despite the challenges, Ayew expressed pride in his teammates and confidence in their ability to end the season on a positive note.

Ayew credited the early goal for helping his team settle down and secure the win. "We got the early goal, it helped us settle down in the game," he said. "It has not been easy, but today went our way, so we are all happy." The win marked Leicester's first victory in the league since January 26, 2025.
