Ghana Football Association's (GFA) Head of Public Relations and Strategy, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe has assured that the Black Stars will not give up on qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament despite their poor start.

The senior national team are at risk of not qualifying for the AFCON tournament for the first time in 20 years after four games without a win.

Otto Addo's men kicked off their qualifiers with a 1-0 home defeat against Angola before a 1-1 draw against Niger.

In the October round of games, the Black Stars were hoping to return to winning ways with a doubleheader against Sudan. However, the first leg ended goalless at the Accra Sports Stadium before a 2-0 defeat in the return leg.

These results leave Ghana at the 3rd spot in Group F with just two points.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Armstrong-Mortagbe speaking in an interview said as long as there is a chance, the Black Stars will not give up on qualification chances.

“The results this month will be telling," he told Metro TV.

"As long as there’s a mathematical chance, we won’t give up. It’s either never say die or ‘wou kum ap3m ap3m beba'," he added.

For Ghana to qualify, they must win against Angola and Niger in their final round of games next week and hope Sudan lose against Niger and Angola.

The Black Stars will travel to Luanda to face Angola on November 15 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, followed by a home match against Niger Republic three days later at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will open camp in Accra on Sunday for the games.
