Orlando Wellington has expressed delight at guiding Berekum Chelsea to a historic Premier League title and erased memories of failed national blues.

He feels relieved after a washed-out campaign with the national Under-20 team which failed to progress beyond the Group stage of this year's African Youth Championship in South Africa last month.

Wellington is thrilled with his achievement of his young squad and charges them to keep the momentum going.

"It's a great day in the history of the club and we are very proud with the success of the team. It gives me a sense of pride and I’m happy for the supporters who have been so supportive of the team," Wellington told reporters at the Golden City Park.

"The win didn’t come easy but we have believed in ourselves and our abilities and that what worked for us and will also shower praises on the team owner Emmanuel Kyeremeh for his outstanding support and the other managers contributing massively to our success.

Striker Emmanuel Clottey's late penalty strike against relegation threatened Real Tamale United ensured the club kept giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the shadow two years consecutively.
