West Brom considering pursuit of QPR striker Austin

West Bromwich Albion are lining up Charlie Austin as a possible replacement for Saido Berahino.

The Daily Express reports that Baggies boss Tony Pulis is determined to bring in a quality goalscorer if 22-year-old Berahino happens to depart The Hawthorns in January.

Berahino has emerged on the radar of reigning champions Chelsea and could be tempted by a winter move to Stamford Bridge.

If Albion allow the England U21 star to depart, Pulis wants an apt replacement which could come in the form of QPR star Austin who has previously been linked with the West Midlands club.

Austin is under contract at QPR until the summer but could be offloaded if the West Londoners feel they cannot forge a genuine Premier League promotion tilt having suffered relegation to the Championship last season.p
