West Brom defender Olsson up for Carroll test against West Ham

West Brom defender Jonas Olsson is up for his clash with West Ham striker Andy Carroll.

Olsson says he loves going up against the powerful West Ham target man, having battled the England striker before for both club and country.

He said: “I have always enjoyed playing against him because it's always a good battle and I'm sure he has enjoyed it too.

“I really enjoy the physical aspect of the game and there always seems to be a big rivalry between us two.

“You don't play for big clubs like Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham unless you're a good footballer and that is what makes him different to some other big, target players I have played against.

“He has a good touch technically and he is an intelligent player. I enjoy being up against big, physical players because that's a big part of my game as well.

“I think that goes for most centre-backs, especially here in England, because they are big, tall players who tend to struggle against smaller players.

“I'm the same, so even if it's a tough test, I prefer a more physical battle."
