West Ham's Diop 'doesn't give a s***' about Chelsea and Man Utd transfer links

West Ham defender Issa Diop insists he is paying no attention to rumours linking him with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is in his second season at the Hammers after joining from Toulouse for around £22million in the summer of 2018.

He has consistently impressed at the back for the east Londoners, making 18 appearances in all competitions in 2019/20 following on from 38 last season.

His form is said to have attracted the attention of a couple of the Premier League's big-hitters, with Manchester United linked with him in the summer and Chelsea rumoured to be preparing a £40million bid for his services this month, via the Daily Express.

However he insists he is happy where he is, and pays no attention to transfer speculation even when his friends tell him about it.

"I am not in negotiations, I don’t care to know which clubs are interested in me. So for me, nothing really changes," Diop told Foot Mercato, via Metro.

"Most of the time, it is friends of mine sending me screenshots to say to me: 'Issa, look…' I am not even the person who finds out first.

"Aside from that, that is the game of the transfer window, some things are true, some things are false. So honestly, I don’t pay too much attention to it.

"Honestly, I don’t really give a s*** about what is in the newspapers. I am not at all concentrated on that. It doesn’t enter my thinking at all.

"I leave people who are responsible to deal with that side. I just focus on football."

The Hammers are back in action at home to Everton on Saturday.
