Westlandes cleared to face Medeama in MTN FA Cup

Premier League side Medeama will tackle Westlandes in their outstanding MTN FA cup round of 64 on 18 March after an Appeals Committee ruling.

The Appeals Committee upheld a protest filed by Mine Stars against Westlandes for fielding an unqualified player in their preliminary round fixture.

But the Disciplinary Committee threw away their case insisting their opponents did no wrong.

Mine Stars further pursued the matter at the Appeal committee which eventually upheld the decision of the DC and awarded a cost of 400 Ghana cedis against Stars.

The ruling has paved way for the Mauves and Yellows to battle Westlandes at their favourite Tarkwa and Aboso Park.

With Medeama unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title, the FA Cup will present a unique opening to win silverware for their suffering fans this season.
