Vancouver Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson has identified Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Koffie as one of three players knocking on the door for a starting place this season.
Koffie alongside Sam Adekugbe and Darren Mattocks were introduced at half time and influenced their final pre-season match which ended 1-1.
After the match Robinson said: “They were fantastic in their attitude but also their play. They’re knocking right on the door to start. I’ve got some good decisions to make. That’s good, because I didn’t have them last year. But I’ve got them this year.â€
Koffie, 23, is in his fourth season at the club and wants to improve last season’s one goal in
Whitecaps start their campaign in the Western Conference on Saturday on 7 March against Toronto.
