Sergio Arribas is the standout novelty in Real Madrid's latest Champions League squad.

Zinedine Zidane has called up other youngsters, such as Victor Chust as a result of Sergio Ramos' absence, but the presence of the midfielder is more striking, considering Eden Hazard's absence.

Zidane, having called upon the 19-year-old for his debut at Real Sociedad in September, has again called him up, having impressed with Castilla under Raul.

Arribas was told that he would be joining the first-team squad for the trip to Ukraine to face Shakhtar Donetsk just minutes after playing Poblense, a game in which he performed very well and scored the equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

The No.22 has been one of Castilla's brightest players this season, even though the weekend's goal was his first of the campaign.

"I'm quick with a good left foot," the player himself has said.

He debuted with the first team on September 19 at La Real, alongside fellow youth player Marvin Park.

That day, Zidane backed the youngsters over Borja Mayoral and Luka Jovic, and he hasn't forgotten about the kids since.
