Ghana Premier League referee Patrick Kyeremanteng who was beaten up by fans of Ebusua Dwarfs last month claims his wife has asked him to quit.

The Kumasi-based referee was admitted to the hospital after the attacks on March 11 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape-Coast.

Kyeremanteng disallowed an equalizer by Dwarfs in a match in which they lost 1-0 on week 19.

He claims he is considering a suggestion from his better half to quit the sport.

''I have not decided yet whether to quit or stay in officiating even though my wife has asked me to,'' Kyeremanteng a local radio stadium.

''My wife said this because she couldn't believe her eyes when she saw me at the hospital even when i came home but time will tell if I should continue or not?'' he added.
