New Kotoko signing William Opoku Mensah is happy join the club after completing his dream move on transfer deadline day.

The ex-Karela United attacker joined the Porcupine Warriors on a year deal with the option of a further extension.

Opoku Mensah, who returned to Ghana after a failed stint in the United States with Swope Park Rangers said it has always been a dream to don the Red jersey.

"I grew up hearing the name of former Kotoko greats like Opoku Nti, Dogo Moro, Baba Yara and Nana Arhin Duah,' he told Kotoko Express.

"It has been my desire for many years to join this club and wear the famous Red jersey. I promise to give 100% and ask that the fans support me."

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu praised the capture of the forward, who he believes has enough experience to sharpen the attack of the Kumasi based club.

"We know him already so he is not a player we are going to try. Per the options available to us, I think he is the best that is why we picked him ahead of the others," said Maxwell Konadu.
