Ghana will compete in the Kirin Soccer Cup with a depleted squad after several players withdrew.

Ghanasoccernet.com can confirm that five players tested positive and have been ruled out.

Meanwhile, four players are injured and will be unavailable for selection by coach Otto Addo.

The four are Jojo Wollacott, Richard Ofori, Jonathan Mensah and Joseph Paintsil.

Wollacott has traveled to London for treatment, while Ofori was dropped in Ghana before the team travelled to Angola for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Central African Republic.

Mensah suffered a serious head injury during the game and had to spend the night in a private hospital in Luanda.

Paintsil, who started the 1-1 tie, is out due to illness.

On Friday, June 10, Ghana will play Japan, with the winner facing either Chile or Tunisia in the final.

The loser will compete in the bronze medal match, which is scheduled for the same day as the final, June 14.
