German-born Kevin Prince Boateng is desperate to make his debut for Ghana one month after Fifa approved his switch to play for the country of his father.

The Portsmouth ace is in line for Black Stars debut when they take on Latvia in a World Cup warm up in Milton Keynes on Saturday.

He was left out of the friendly against Holland on Tuesday but he is confident of impressing Black Stars fans when he is called up for Saturday's game.   "Ghanaian fans can expect that I would be the field and that I would give a 100 per cent for the team and the whole country and I am looking forward to it," he said

The Germany born player is impressed with the reception he has received from his new national team colleagues with Germany-based Hans Sarpei tasked with helping him integrate into the squad.

"I feel very good i feel very welcome, they took me in like family and it wasn’t difficult. It was very good," Boateng said.

"Hans Sarpei has been very helpful because we speak German and he translates a lot of things. I know him since our days in Germany and it was good for me.   “It was good for me to see how the team acts against Holland and how he wants the team to play. It was important for me to see how the team plays and how he wants me to play.

"I hope I can show him on Saturday what i can show him the same style he wants the team to play.”
