Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac says defender John Mensah will play a key role for the Black Stars at the World Cup despite doubts on his fitness.
Mensah has played just 62 minutes spread across two games for Sunderland since the start of April due to a calfà injury.
The 27-year-old sat out the first half of the friendly against the Dutch in Rotterdam early this week.
But the coach insists Mensah will be ready to play against Serbia when their World Cup starts with the clash with Serbia.
"He's had some problem with injury but in the end he's OK now and we're hoping he can deliver," Rajevac said.
Ghana will play Serbian Australia and Germany in Group D of the tournament.
