World Cup 2010: Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan excited by English Premier League link

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan appreciates being linked with a move to England but wants to keep his focus in helping the Black Stars advance to the last 16 stage at the World Cup finals.

Gyan is said to be on the shopping list of West Ham United who want to revamp their squad after a difficult campaign last season.

The 24-year-old is in a form of life at the mundial having scored two goals and won two back-to-back Man of the Match awards in Group D.

"I am flattered by interest from the Premier League, but I am concentrating on helping Ghana into the next round of the World Cup," Gyan told Sky Sports.

"It looks like we might be the only African nation with a genuine chance of reaching the next round."

But it is uncertain if his French side Rennes will sell their arrow head who raked in 13 goals in the Ligue 1 last term.

"It is simply the best league in the world and every player wants to be part of it.

"I have a contract with Rennes and they will have a say as well. They have been brilliant to me and if I do leave it will be on good terms."

Gyan emerged Ghana's top scorer at the Africa Cup of Nations early this year in Angola.
