World Cup 2010: Ghana sweat on defender John Paintsil

Ghana defender John Paintsil might sit out Wednesday's final Group D showdown with Germany in Johannesburg.

The Fulham ace suffered a concussion (near collapse) in added on time during the 1-1 draw with Australia last Saturday.

Paintsil was stretchered off after he suffered a knock at the back of his head by substitute Joshua Kennedy.

The 29-year-old did not train with his team mates on Sunday but joined them for dinner a day before.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevec is however remaining upbeat of having the right-back in his starting line-up against the three-time World Champions.

"Paintsil is okay. He joined us for dinner yesterday (Saturday) and he was fine. He would be okay for the game against Germany,'' Rajevac said at a press conference.
