Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is not surprised by his form at the World Cup after winning two man-of-the-match awards and powering his country's last eight berth.
The Rennes forwards puts his sterling displays down to a fine campaign in the French Ligue 1 where he raked in 13 goals.
"Am I surprised by how well I've played? No. I've had a good season for my club and I know what I am worth when I am 100 percent fit," Gyan told AFP at the Ghanaians training camp close to the Sun City resort in north west South Africa.
"Two years ago I was criticised by my compatriots. It hurt, I have to admit that. But I never lost trust in myself. I know that 100 percent fit I would perform and that is what has happened."
Gyan has recovered from a training ground ankle injury and looks fit to play in Friday's quarter final against Uruguay at the Soccer City Stadium.
He has scored three goals at the World Cup.
