World Cup 2010: FT: Ghana 2-4 Uruguay

Ghana's hopes of  landing a semi-final berth at the World Cup has been crashed after losing 4-2 on penalties to Uruguay at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg.

The match tied one-all after extra-time.

Diego Forlan brilliantly curled  in a free-kick in the 54th minute to draw level.

Sulley Muntari fired from 20 metres on the stroke of half-time to hand a Ghana the lead

Ghana also just missed with back-to-back efforts on goal around the 30th minute.

Isaac Vorsah headed wide left off a corner, then Kevin-Prince Boateng found Asamoah Gyan for a first-time shot that goalkeeper Fernando Muslera saved by stretching low to his left.

In the 39th, Sulley Muntari headed wide off Anthony Annan's long pass.

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson twice saved well from shots in the 10th and 26th minutes.
