Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed in-form striker Kelvin Yeboah has snubbed Black Stars in favour of Italy U21.
Yeboah was invited by coach Charles Akonnor because of his exploits in the Austrian top-flight. After six games, he has scored an impressive four goals.
But Yeboah whose nephew is Ghana legend Anthony Yeboah also received an invitation from Italy.
Italy U21 handed Yeboah a debut call-up for their European qualifiers last week and the striker couldn't hide his excitement as he celebrated on social media.
The GFA announced Tuesday that 32 players have reported for Black Stars camp with Yeboah's name missing from the list published by the association on their website.
Yeboah hasn't communicated his decision not to turn up for the Black Stars games but it is evident he has chosen Italy over Ghana despite being born in Accra.
The 21-year-old holds an Italian citizenship as well.
