Xavi on potentially replacing Koeman: I don't know anything, I'm on my holidays

Xavi Hernandez arrived in Barcelona on Monday after the conclusion of Al Sadd's season, yet he was immediately quizzed about whether he will be replacing Ronald Koeman in the Blaugrana hot seat.

The legendary Barcelona midfielder was accompanied by his family as they prepare to enjoy their holidays in the Catalan capital after last being in the city two years ago.

When asked about potentially taking charge at Barcelona by a series of journalists who were awaiting his arrival, he gave a direct answer.

"I don't know anything, I've come here on holiday," Xavi responded. He did not want to say anything else and swiftly left with his family.

Xavi has just renewed his contract with Al Sadd, although the Qatari club have made clear to the 41-year-old that they would not stand in his way if an offer from Barcelona arrived.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta could sack Koeman in the coming days and Xavi is viewed as the ideal replacement, with reports having emerged that talks with the former midfielder are already underway.

The ball is now in Laporta's court, as he will have to make a decision about what to do with the head coach position.
