Azam FC defender Yakubu Mohammed is elated to make his Ghana debut on Monday when the Black Stars thrashed Qatar in an international friendly.

The central defender came on as a substitute to make his first Ghana bow as they beat the Asian champions 5-1 in Antalya, Turkey.

Mohammed was an unused substitute during last Friday's embarrassing defeat to Mali also in Antalya, Turkey.

The 24-year-old took to his Twitter and Facebook account to express his happiness after marking his debut.

"Proud to have played my first game for the Senior side of @ghanafaofficial today as i came on as a sub against @QFA_EN. #Alhamdulillah #YM2 ?????
