Former Ghana international Yaw Acheampong is reported to have turned down an offer to coach Hearts of Oak.

Acheampong, who has a contract with Elmina Sharks, is said to have been contacted by Hearts of Oak with an offer to become their head coach but, the 47-year-old is not interested.

The Phobians’ top job became vacant recently following Serbian Kosta Papic’s shock exit. Papic resigned after 78 days in charge, accusing the club's top hierarchy of interfering with his work - this has been denied by board members Dr Nyaho Tamakloe and Vincent Sowah Odotei.

Samuel Nii Noi, who is their U-15 coach, is currently in control of the first team. But Hearts have assured their supporters a new coach will be appointed 'soon'.

Former Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu, Laryea Kingson, Ibrahim Tanko and Yaw Preko have all been linked with the job.
