Yanga FC head coach Hans Van der Pluigm has rated the Ghana Premier League above the Tanzanian league insisting the Ghanaian game is one of the best in the African continent.

The Ghana Premier League keeps receiving criticisms the from various Ghanaian sporting media in the country despite several Ghana FA officials rating the Ghanaian game as one of the best on the African continent.

The former Heart of Lions and AshGold coach who is now the head coach of Yanga FC has joined the Ghana FA officials with the claim that his former work place has a better league than his current environment.

"The Ghana league is a bit ahead of the Tanzanian league. Ghana started many years ago already with football academies and has developed players at young ages with the technically and tactically basics of football,” he told Ghana Sports Newspaper.

“Late Ben Kouffie, Sam Addey and Francis Oti Akenteng are the ones who have done a lot for development of Ghana football.

“I qualified Heart of Lions to the Premier league for the first time and Confederations Cup. I also qualified Goldfields to the Confederations Cup and won Asantehene Cup.”

Van der Pluigm supervised his side's 3-1 lashing by Ghanaian side Medeama SC a few days ago in the CAF Confederation Cup clash at the Essipong Stadium in Ghana last Friday.
