Young football fans are BANNED from the Carabao Cup final between Manchester City and Tottenham

Published on: 13 April 2021

Manchester City and Tottenham fans under the age of 18 will not be allowed to attend the Carabao Cup final next weekend under Government rules.

It was confirmed last week that the Wembley final will act as an official pilot event with fans in attendance as part of the UK Government's road map out of lockdown.

Tottenham and Manchester City have each been allocated 2,000 tickets for the game on April 25 but, as final ticket details emerged on Tuesday, there will be no under-18s or pregnant women allowed to attend.

The fixture - being used as a pilot event to gauge the logistics of the return of big crowds - will be attended by 8,000 supporters, with the 4,000 not allocated to either club offered to NHS staff and residents of nearby Brent.

More to follow.
