Abdulai's elevation to the first team comes following his outstanding performances at the Extremadura B side for the past few seasons.

The 21-year-old joined the Spanish second-tier side from Ghanaian lower-tier club Spartans FC in 2018.

Abdulai has been training with the club's first teams as they await the resumption of football activities in Spain in June.

His contract with Extremadura UD will expire in summer 2024.

Extremadura also have Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey in their fold and has been instrumental this season.
