Yunus Musah was the player who stole the limelight during Valencia's 4-2 win against Levante on Sunday night.
The 17-year-old impressed on his debut for Los Che, although his first game for the club came later than expected.
Marcelino had promised to play the youngster last season, but he left the club and was replaced by Albert Celades.
Valencia signed Musah last year on a free transfer from Arsenal as the player preferred to a move to the southern Europe, having previously played in Italy with Giorgione.
He started training with Valencia's first team in early September and many in the squad were shocked by the maturity of his game and his potential.
Marcelino promised that Musah would play for the senior side last season, and he was even included in Valencia's B list for the Champions League.
However, the Spanish coach departed the club and Musah started training with the club's B team.
Marcelino's successor, Celades, didn't call him up for any of Valencia's matches until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
Musah signed a three-year contract, which is set to end in 2022, and Valencia need to move fast should they want to keep him at Mestalla long term.
He feels comfortable in the city, is aware that Valencia are a good club for him to develop his talent at, but he hasn't ruled out a move back to the Premier League.
