Chelsea have renewed their interest in Anthony Gordon and are considering a January move for his Everton teammate Amadou Onana.

During the summer transfer window, the Blues were reportedly willing to pay up to £60 million to bring the England Under-21 international to Stamford Bridge.

Gordon remained on Merseyside, but The Telegraph reports that Chelsea has renewed its interest in what could be a frantic end to the January transfer window.

Everton are in crisis after sacking Frank Lampard on Monday afternoon. They are currently 19th in the Premier League table, with only goal difference keeping them from the bottom.

Chelsea will look to exploit this situation by raiding the Toffees for Gordon, who is now expected to leave Goodison Park before the transfer window closes.

With the club mired in relegation, the Blues may consider loaning Gordon back to Everton for the remainder of the season, but they will also look into signing midfielder Onana.

Since joining Everton from Lille in a £33 million deal in the summer, the Belgian international has been one of the club’s few bright spots this season.

The Merseyside club would be ‘extremely hesitant’ to sell Onana this month, but Chelsea are aware of Everton’s need for funds to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Chelsea’s spending spree has continued this month, with their most expensive signing to date, Mkyhailo Mudryk, arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk and making his debut off the bench against Liverpool on Saturday.

Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven, Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama, Benoit Badiashile from Monaco, and David Datro Fofana from Molde have also joined the club.

Joao Felix has also joined on loan from Atletico Madrid, with Chelsea agreeing to pay a fee of £9 million for the deal until the end of the season, bringing Chelsea’s winter spending to around £160 million.

They are preparing another move for Enzo Fernandez after having offers turned down earlier this month, with Benfica adamant he will not leave for anything less than his £105 million release clause.

Chelsea are also preparing a bid for Lyon right-back Malo Gusto, whom they believe can provide excellent cover for Reece James.
