The first racket of the world Novak Djokovic shared his opinion on the removal of Russian and Belarusian tennis players from participating in Wimbledon.
“Athletes are here to play sports. If we remove them just because they represent a certain country, it will be a bad decision.
We need a link to Wimbledon. I’m not in the negotiations like 10 years ago and I haven’t spoken to the Wimbledon representatives, but I was told they are very strict, ” Tennis.com quoted Djokovic as saying.
The Serb also spoke about his attitude to a possible boycott of the tournament.
“A boycott is a very aggressive thing, so there must be much better solutions.”
