Highly talented ace agrees new Manchester United contract after rejecting Real Madrid
Alejandro Garnacho has agreed to terms with Manchester United on a new five-year contract.
The 18-year-old had a breakout season at Old Trafford, making 25 appearances across all competitions and scoring three goals.
The teenager joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £350,000 and has quickly risen through the ranks to become a first-team player.
Garnacho’s current contract, however, makes him the lowest paid player in the squad, earning around £5,000 per week.
More concerning for United is the fact that Garnacho’s contract expires in 18 months and that he has attracted interest from Real Madrid and Juventus.
According to ESPN, Garnacho has agreed to the outline of a new five-year contract with United, with image rights being the only outstanding issue.
Though Garnacho’s new salary has not been disclosed, it is expected that his weekly wage will rise in tandem with his involvement with the first team.
In the coming weeks, an announcement could be made to put an end to speculation about Garnacho’s future.
Once the Garnacho deal is completed, United will turn their attention to securing the futures of Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, and Diogo Dalot.
