Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov talked about his desire to meet with his fellow former heavyweight champion of the promotion, American Cain Velasquez, who is currently in prison.
“I talked to the trainer yesterday. Asked him if there was a chance to see Cain in prison. We can do that in Russia, but I don’t know how things are in the U.S. in that regard. I also don’t know the local laws, but I really want to see him. I will be in San Jose in a couple of days and I want to go see him. Want to shake his hand to give him some positive energy,” TMZ quoted Khabib as saying.
Recall, that Velasquez was arrested on February 28. He was charged with attempted murder. Cain faces 20 years to life in prison if convicted. He shot the man accused of abusing his 4-year-old son but missed and the bullet hit the defendant’s stepfather.
