Tottenham’s draw against West Bromwich Albion means Leicester City are now within an inch of a first Premier League title. And William Hill have revealed that they face pay-outs of more than £3 million if the Foxes end the season in first place.

William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly said: “We stand to lose a small fortune if Leicester do what everybody must now be expecting them to do. 5000/1 is the biggest priced winner in betting history!”

25 people placed wagers on Leicester City to win the title before the beginning of the season and 40% of those bets have now been cashed out. The rest remain live with a potential pay out of £191,128 if players choose to see it through to the end of the season. In total, William Hill have taken £378,892 on Leicester and the final pay-out – should Leicester lift the trophy – currently stands at £3,015,673. It would be the biggest priced single winner in history.
