Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has issued a plea to West Ham captain Declan Rice, urging him to choose the Gunners over Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports, Mikel Arteta’s side are currently the favorites to secure Rice’s signature – a player Mikel Arteta has made his priority target for the summer, as the Hammers brace themselves for the departure of their star player.

The 24 years old English international has repeatedly rejected offers to renew his contract at the London Stadium and is said to be seeking out a move to a club competing in the Champions League.

The 1998 world cup winner has emphasized that if Rice wants to elevate his game and achieve success, he should make the move to the Emirates this summer.

The Former Arsenal man said “Declan if you’re listening, my message is very simple. If you want to improve – you’re already a great player – and win silverware, you have to come Arsenal!

Although Arsenal are said to be in pole position to land Rice, they will face stiff competition from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

West Ham’s previous £150 million valuation of the England international has reportedly dropped, and he could be available for around £85 million this summer- which would set a new transfer record for Arsenal.
