Mixed form at home for Brighton
After a 2-0 away defeat to Aston Villa, Brighton is back at home to face Leeds. So far this season in six home matches, Brighton have won, lost, and drawn two each.
Brighton’s loss last week moved them down to ninth in the table, still in touch with those challenging for Europe but also looking over their shoulder at the bottom of the league as they’ve now gone seven games without a win.
It is a struggle to see where the goals are going to come from for Brighton – especially as they’ve played their last three without a recognised striker. However, Neil Maupay could be the answer if allowed to start, as he has scored four goals in his last six league matches against Leeds.

The time is now for Leeds
Marcelo Bielsa’s men find themselves 17th in the league, and unable to string a run of any significance together.
They were winning at half-time before Tottenham came back to win with two in the second half. However, Leeds created more chances and had more possession which is encouraging for them.
This game could almost be deemed a must win, most of the teams around them have had positive results lately under new managers, and Leeds’ schedule from 11 December up until the Christmas period is horrendous.
Brighton vs Leeds United predictions
Both teams are struggling for goals lately. Brighton with four goals from their last six haven’t started a recognised striker in their last three, Patrick Bamford remains out for the foreseeable future for Leeds who have scored six in their last six.
With under 2.5 goals coming in 67% of the time in Brighton matches and 50% in Leeds matches, we recommend backing under 2.5 goals.
Though the statistic about Leeds not having the same result twice in a row is more of a strange one than anything particularly meaningful, we do not believe Leeds will lose this one. With Brighton drawing five of their last seven, we believe the draw is the way to go.
