Prediction on Egypt vs Congo DR
It’s Egypt vs DR Congo, two teams that have consistently faltered in their African Cup of Nations campaign so far, with Egypt being the bigger culprit of the three. We do not really expect much to change in this encounter, maybe in the aspect of the sheer number of goals in Egyptian games but definitely in the result, as we are all but certain this one will end in a draw.
Both teams seem to like a draw, with both teams having had six draws in their combined six group stage games. Even though they have not really shown what they look to be capable of at all, Egypt have at least been consistent in the scoring department with six goals in three games, DR Congo on the other hand have shown ability to respond when they concede. So we will be going for both teams to score in our second prediction.
Match Preview: Egypt vs Congo DR
Egypt have had a very disappointing tournament so far, billed as one of the tournament favourites, they failed to produce the goods and only managed to scrape through to the round of 16 with three draws. One department that they can surely rely on, is their attack, with an incredible 2-2 in all three group games, highlighting strengths and weaknesses, a need to improve on defense if they are to go all the way.
DR Congo just like Egypt can count themselves fortunate to still be in the tournament after three draws in the group stage. They seem not to lack spirit as they clawed back twice from losing positions to secure two draws and will be hoping to spring up surprises in what will be a mini upset at least, if they manage to knock out Salah and his army of Pharaohs.
