Iceland v Austria: Thomas Giles’ betting tip
Minnows Iceland have proven they are not at the Euros to simply make up the numbers and are currently undefeated at their first ever major tournament. Austria were the main dark horse prior to these European Championships with many tipping them to make a large impact in France, however, they currently sit bottom of the table needing a win to make it through to the knockout rounds.
This game is incredibly hard to call with both teams needing to win to guarantee progression into the last 16. With this match being too close to call then you need to look into the other markets to find a bet with less of a risk.
I think both teams will look to be conservative in the first half, waiting for their opponent to make the first move – much like a chess match. However, as they both need to win I believe these two sides will go for it in the second half which will mean an open game and lots of chances for both sides. Both teams to score in the second half looks a good bet at 15/4.
