It was a pretty big surprise to see Hungary win over Austria, and what was perhaps even more surprising was the manner in which they did it. It was seemingly ‘easy’. With Iceland it will be a completely different story, though.

The enthusiasm of the Icelandic is not enough to explain the result in the first game, they were very disciplined and tactically astute during that opening match and they managed the double threat of Portugal & Cristiano very, very well. Hungary, on the other hand, were patient and exploited the space left in behind by Austria, before ultimately killing them off using counter attacks. Although this was something that Hungary did very well, they are unlikely to eb able to play in this way today. Iceland are way more focused and tactically smart, their joint-manager Lagerback is an old fox and he will know that the Hungarians only look for that. If Iceland can replicate the same levels that were shown on Tuesday then they could make things tough for Hungary here. And, at 9/5, Iceland to win is just too juicy to be missed.
