Bookmaker-Ratings expert Emmanuel Adebayor has made his prediction for Saturday’s FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match between the Netherlands and USA.
The Netherlands advanced to the Round of 16 after winning Group A. They’ll be looking to make it to the quarter-finals for the first time since 2014, when they finished third.
The US team finished second in Group B after defeating Iran 1-0 in their last group game to reach the Round of 16. The last time they made the World Cup 1/4 finals was in 2002.
Both sides played some good football so far at this World Cup and remained undefeated in the group stages.
What about the Netherlands? You know Memphis Depay is not at his best form. He has not yet scored in this World Cup, while young talent on the Dutch side, Cody Gakpo, is on top of his game, scoring three goals in three matches. His confidence is too high.
The US team? They are playing as a team, they have good unity, team spirit, and enthusiasm. This is fantastic. I don’t know why, but I can see that the USA will win this game 1:0.
