Bookmaker-Ratings expert Emmanuel Adebayor has made his prediction for Tuesday’s FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match between Portugal and Switzerland.
Portugal suffered an unexpected defeat against South Korea in their last group-stage game. Obviously disappointed with Portugal’s performance. Poor result but they have still finished top of the table.
Their head coach Bruno Santos made some changes to the starting XI: Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Joao Felix were missing, but, Cristiano Ronaldo was in but again couldn’t score, not the best performance for him.
Switzerland came from behind to beat Serbia 3-2 in their last group-stage game. The Swiss players are showing that they deserve to be here at this World Cup. They are so organized, and their counter-press is beautiful.
They know how to play against big teams. Against Brazil, they played quite well but were a bit unlucky.
My favorites are Portugal. Bruno Fernandes is on the top of for, Joao Felix plays well, Ronaldo is also trying to do his best. For Switzerland it would be a tough game. They will defend more. They have good players, like Shaqiri, who plays very well.
However, this Portugal team have all ingredients to go through. I think Portugal will win 3:1.
