Zambian side Zesco United land in Takoradi ahead of Confed Cup match against Medeama

Zesco United have arrived in Takoradi for the first leg tie of their CAF Confederation Cup match against Medeama on Sunday.

A 35-man contingent from Zambia arrived in Ghana on Thursday evening and travelled to Takoradi-venue for the match on Friday morning.

GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm that the team has checked in at their hotel to rest before they start their first training session later on Friday.

Meanwhile, Medeama will  be without key striker Kabiru Moro due to suspension.

Moro is Medema’s joint top scorer in the competition with two goals from four games.

Meanwhile, Zesco have injury setbacks with striker Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba  and midfielder Simon Silwimba both ruled out and their places have been taken by Chileshe Kabwe and Maybin Mwaba respectively.

The return leg will take place on March 29  at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Winner will advance to the final pre-group stage next month where they will be joined by losers from the CAF Champions League last 16 round stage that kicks off this weekend.
