Zamparini: Palermo’s season begins on Sunday

Published on: 13 September 2016

After a somewhat disappointing start to the new campaign, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has said the club will pick themselves up this weekend.

The Rosanero have picked up one point from the opening three games, that being a draw away at Inter, and new coach Roberto De Zerbi began his campaign as coach with a 3-0 loss to Napoli.

“We knew it would be a difficult debut for De Zerbi,” Zamparini told the Giornale di Sicilia.

“We had twelve players who were away on international duty.

“Our season will being next Sunday.”

Palermo’s next match is a trip to Crotone, who are the only side lower than them in the Serie A league table currently, on September 18.

Crotone have lost all three of their opening games to Bologna, Genoa and Empoli.
