CAF Confederation Cup: Zesco United forward Rahim Osumanu eyes victory over Kotoko to salvage pride

Ghanaian forward of Zesco United, Rahim Osumanu says his side are ready to beat Asante Kotoko to salvage some pride after a disappointing campaign in the group stages.

The Zambian giants are rooted bottom of group C after suffering a damaging defeat to rivals Nkana FC last  Sunday, ending their hopes of reaching the quarter finals.

However, the 23-year old insists they would want to restore some pride by beating Kotoko to please their fans.

"We approach every game with all seriousness so we are training and preparing for a win against Kotoko, although we won’t qualify even if we beat Kotoko but we are going to make our supporter happy,' he told Happy FM.

"We want to beat Kotoko to bring the spirit and confidence of the supporters back to the team.

"We are playing to protect our flag. We are not going to play for Nkana FC because we are in the same country,' he added.

Osumanu scored in the reverse encounter in Kumasi and believes his performances will catch the eyes of the technical team of the Black Stars.

"I am hoping for a National team call up soon because I am ever ready to serve Ghana and this is the time," Osumanu said.
