Piotr Zielinski is aiming for a big season with Napoli, having completed his first few training sessions with the squad in Dimaro.
“We have a strong side, a competitive side, and our aim is to win,” said the Pole, who got married over the summer. “I saw Ancelotti as I soon as I arrived here and he congratulated me on getting married – it’s an important step in my life and I hope it can help me to develop in my career too. I’m determined to live up to my potential this season.”
Zielinski was full of praise for Ancelotti, who he believes has inspired him to aim even higher this year.
“Ancelotti is a master of football and I’m sure I’ll be able to establish myself once and for all under him,” said the midfielder. “He’s a winner and he’s giving us that mentality. Personally I’m aware that I haven’t always been a consistent performer, but I’m maturing – as a player and a person – and I feel ready to take that big step up with the team.”
Zielinski also addressed his Napoli future.
“I’m discussing a new deal,” he said. “I love it in Naples and I want to play for this club for a long time. My aim is to win a trophy or achieve something important this season. I do think about the Scudetto – all the players too. Winning it with Napoli would be a dream. We’ll do everything we can to do so.”
