Zimbabwe national football team head coach, Zdravko Lugarusic has tipped Ghana as favorites to top the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers ahead of South Africa, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe.

The Black Stars are in Group G of the qualifiers and will begin their campaign to Qatar 2022 in March.

Zdravko Lugarusic in an interview has tipped Ghana as favorites to sail through the group to the play-off round.

"I could not talk as a supporter, I must talk as a coach, Ghana has many quality players who play much bigger games than against South Africa, and the rest, so in the group Ghana is absolutely the favorite".

He further said his team will try to finish second in the group ahead of South Africa and Ethiopia.

“We have to fight for position number 2 because Ghana is definitely like to finish first".

The former Asante Kotoko coach was recently appointed as head coach of The Warriors after coaching the Sudan national team.

After a round-robin of matches, the winners of the 10 groups will qualify for the final round of the continental qualification on the journey to Qatar.

Ghana are looking to make a return to the global showpiece since their last appearance at Brazil 2014 where they were eliminated in the group stage.
