Sources close to Chelsea have informed Football Insider that the club views Gabriel Slonina as a promising young talent who has the potential to secure the long-term position of the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. The 18-year-old joined the Stamford Bridge outfit in January and has already made an impression with his performances.

Slonina is not a stranger to the limelight as he burst onto the scene in Major League Soccer at the tender age of 17, showcasing his talents with Chicago Fire. The young shot-stopper has garnered praise for his abilities and is held in high regard within MLS circles.

To aid his development, it is expected that Slonina will be sent out on loan for the 2023-24 campaign. This will provide him with an opportunity to take the next step in his career and gain valuable experience that will aid his progression as a goalkeeper.
