Kroenke’s set to sanction move for £72M midfielder as Edu and Mikel Arteta fancy marquee signing for Arsenal

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Arsenal linked Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic would be a “more marquee” signing than Moises Caicedo.

Mikel Arteta is in the process of assembling a team that he believes will challenge for more than just the Premier League title, and he has made some excellent acquisitions thus far.

Matt Turner, Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, Oleksander Zinchenko, and Gabriel Jesus were all signed by the Spanish manager last summer, while Leandro Trossard, Jorginho, and Jakub Kiwori joined in January.

According to the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Milinkovic-Savic is now very interested in joining the Emirates at the end of the current season.

Savic, who has six goals and eight assists in all competitions this season, is widely regarded as one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the game.

Moises Caicedo has also been linked with a move to the Emirates, but Journalist O’Rourke believes Milinkovic-Savic has played at a higher level for a longer period of time than Brighton’s Caicedo, making him a’more marquee’ signing.

“He’s a top player, probably has more experience than him, has played at a higher level for longer than him, so he might be the more marquee signing than Caicedo, in that respect,” O’Rourke told GMS. Milinkovic-Savic is a slightly different player than Caicedo in that he scores more goals and provides more offensive support.”

Milinkovic-Savic is a top player with high asking prices, but one thing we learned last summer is that ARSENAL are willing to spend.

Both are world-class players, but if we had to pick one, we’d go with Savic – he’s a true top-tier player who would bring so much to the club.
