Lionel Messi praises Erling Haaland following 8th Ballon d’Or win

Lionel Messi won his 8th Ballon d’Or on Monday in Paris as the ceremony took place at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
Messi won a record 8th Ballon d’Or following Argentina’s World Cup win in December 2022 following which the star moved to MLS side Inter Miami.
Erling Haaland, who had an incredible first season with Manchester City finished second, while PSG star Mbappe came third.
Speaking following his win, Messi said: “Haaland and Mbappé will win the Ballon d’Or one day”.
“Erling deserved it very much too, he has won Premier League, Champions League while being the top scorer of everything. This award could have been yours today too…”.
