Aliaksandra Sasnovich – Maria Sharapova. Anna Chakvetadze’s prediction
Aliaksandra Sasnovich has been progressing well during the previous season. But not everything will depend on that in her upcoming match. Maria Sharapova is an obvious favourite.
Sasnovich defeated Evgeniya Rodina in two sets. But we must remember that she had a bad start at the beginning of the season. She lost in the first 2 rounds of qualification – to Kristina Kucova and to Yulia Putintseva. It seems now that Sasnovich is not as good as she was at the end of last season. She will definitely win some sets, but how many?
Maria Sharapova defeated Nao Hibino in the first round but lost some games at the end. So it was 6:1 and 6:3. 16 games in total. I think that she wouldn’t let it get over 17 in the next match. She had a possibility to find her game. I suggest that Sharapova will be more confident in her second match. So we can go for under 17 games in it.
