This is a Moscow derby that should be full of goals with both teams needing to pick up three points to achieve their ambitions this season. Promes is currently the joint top-scorer in the Russian Premier League and he of course will want to put himself back on top of the goalscoring charts to ensure that he clinches this season’s Golden Boot.

Furthermore, not only is Promes the joint top scorer, his goals have come right across the season rather than in gluts of two or three over the last few matches. This shows the consistency of the Dutchman and evidence that he can be relied upon to score in most matches.

The former FC Twente man may also be eyeing up a move to Europe this summer and will want to impress any visiting scouts with an good display. Additionally, with Holland’s failure to qualify for the European Championships this summer, Promes will want to make sure he is a major part of the Dutch national team’s future plans as they go through a transition.

Spartak have scored two goals in each of their last three games so, with the forward line breeding plenty of confidence over this recent form, Promes should get plenty of chances to score.
